Kyrö Wood Smoke Rye Whisky

Our Kyrö Woodsmoke is smoked using alder wood. Alder wood tends to produce aromas that are reminiscent of campfire smoke, smoked ham, and the forrest. It's these, more fragile smoke notes that are captured through alder wood smoking, which in turn leaves room for rye’s nuances and doesn't drown out the whisky's complex flavor spectrum. In our modernized but still quaint smokehouse, four tons of rye are smoked for 24 hours in each batch. It’s basically a constant reminder of that first sauna session.

This bottling is light on the smoke flavors. A rather delicate smokiness which supports the rye flavors, resulting in a balanced complex whisky.

Limited Edition pre-Release

Following an old northern custom, the rye has been introduced to a touch of alder smoke in a 100-year old "riihi" barn. This is our first expression of a delicately smoked 100% rye whisky.

Matured in ex-bourbon, French oak, and New American white oak barrels. This is a pre-release making way for our wider smoked rye whisky range.
